Claire Danes at the 2014 Producers Guild Awards

Claire Danes is an Emmy award winning actress who starred alongside Damien Lewis in Showtime’s war drama Homeland, but the 35-year-old took on her first small screen performance in 1994 in the critically acclaimed My So-Called Life.

Opposite Jared Leto, the show was praised for its realistic portrayal of teen life in the mid-90s but only ran for 19 episodes.

My So-Called Life ended on a cliff-hanger as the cast and crew expected a second season but it was instead cancelled.

Claire went on to star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Baz Luhrmann’s gorgeous adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet but then went on to spend several year in supporting roles in films such as The Rainmaker and The Hours.

In 2010 Claire broke back into Hollywood with the television miniseries Temple Grandin, a biopic of the autistic woman who revolutionized practices for the humane handling of livestock on cattle ranches and slaughterhouses.She would go on to win three lead actress awards from three major awards ceremonies – the Emmys, the Golden Globes

Claire has won every Emmy and Golden Globe that she been nominated for since the show aired in 2011.In 2009 Claire married fellow actor Hugh Dancy in a small intimate ceremony in front of a close number of friends and family. 

In 2012  Claire and Hugh welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Cyrus.
