Born in Australia, in 2007 Miranda, a practising Buddhist, became the first Australian model to participate as a Victoria’s Secret Angel.
Her rise to fame started in 1997 at the age of 13 as she won a modelling competition. Flown to Sydney for a photo shoot for Dolly magazine, the win caused controversy over her young age and the glorification of girls.
She later started modelling for surf brands including Billabong, before moving to New York where she booked campaigns for magazines such as Elle, Vogue, and Harper’s Bazaar, before breaking out in the US after signing a contract with Maybelline in 2006.
In 2007 Miranda signed with Victoria’s Secret, replacing Gisele Bundchen and joining Alessandro Ambrosio, Adriana Lima and Karolina Kurkova, as she walked in the world famous Victoria’s Secret show for four years in a row.
Miranda met British actor Orlando Bloom in 2007, and the pair announced their engagement in June 2010 before getting married the following month.
Early in 2011 Miranda and Orlando gave birth to a son, Flynn Christopher, however late in 2013 the two confirmed they were separating.
Miranda is now the face of several brands including H&M and Swarovski.
