Catherine and Michael supported Meryl Streep at the Monte Cristo award ceremony.
Meryl joked that thanks to the retrospective of her career which took place during the evening made her feel like she was at her own funeral. "So I'm really happy," she said. "You don't usually get to be there."
She also thanked her husband, Don Gummer: "for those four children that I dreamed of on the beach that day. He came along, thank god!"
Meryl's sculptor husband – father to her three daughters Louisa, Grace and Mamie and son Henry – wasn't at the event, but Meryl was in good company with Michael and Catherine at her side for dinner.
The reconcilled couple looked happy to be back in the public eye together.
Last month, Michael's mother Diana Dill told HELLO! magazine that the pair's 13-year-marriage was on the mend.
"They are together. I knew they would work it out," said Diana. "They're both gentle people, not hysterical. They're always very affectionate and easy with each other.
"They spent three long vacations together. Something's working. They went to Canada, they have a place in Quebec, they went to Bermuda and they went to the Caribbean with the kids on vacation. They've had a lot of time in the last two months."
The New York event was the husband and wife's second red carpet bash this fortnight.
Catherine and Michael, who have two children Dylan, 13, and ten-year-old Carys, are also living together as a family again after the actress moved into "a house next door".
Michael himself had previously said he was hopeful for a reconciliation. "Sometimes people take a little bit of a break, but it doesn't necessarily mean that's the end," he said. "I'm very hopeful."
