Keira Knightley: 'Getting married seemed like a fun thing to do'
11 JUNE 2014
After taking a year-long hiatus from film, Keira Knightley is back, and she's ready to talk about her time away from the spotlight - including her marriage to Klaxons keyboardist James Righton.
The star admitted that she considered tying the knot because it was on her list of things she hadn't experienced previously.
"When James proposed, I just thought, 'Well, never done that before'," the actress, 29, told Glamour magazine. "It seemed like a fun thing to do."

Keira and James, 30, started dating in February 2011, and tied the knot in the south of France in May 2013.
Getting married isn't the only recent change in Keira's life; after years appearing in successful dramas, she is returning to the silver screen in rom-com Begin Again starring Adam Levine.
"With a feel-good film you are always risking going way too cheesy," she admitted. "But maybe I can have a little holiday where I'm not playing a character who is being destroyed."

In the film, Keira stars as Greta, the girlfriend of Adam's character. "He did play a d***head very well," Keira said of the Maroon 5 frontman's acting debut. "Actually I admire him being so willing. To play a d***head is quite a big thing when you are trying to break into film and you want to be likable."
Keira herself made her film debut when she was just ten, and she touched upon her life in the limelight.

"There are those who manage that time of their lives really well - doing a lot of partying and making a lot of mistakes and thinking the world is only there for you, but I was way too introverted and there was always this s***load of photographers, who made it worse," Keira said of her twenties.
"When I hit 25, for some reason I didn't care anymore — I allowed myself to chill out. Since then, everything's been amazing."
