Kim Kardashian has opened up on her plan to 'break the internet' with her latest racy photoshoot, revealing: "I'm not saying anyone else should do it but I looked at it as an art project for me, something that would make me feel confident and make me feel good and it taught me to do what you want to do."

The  Keeping Up With The Kardashians star was speaking live on Australian TV when she was asked about the now infamous magazine shoot for Paper magazine which was released last Wednesday.

"Everyone should do what they're comfortable with," Kim continued, before adding: "I'm never one to preach, but I felt really positive and good about myself, I love the photos, I did it for me, but I hope other people like them."

The cover was based on a 1980s shot taken by photographer Jean-Paul Goude, recreated by Kim and Jean-Paul for the December issue.

"[Jean-Marc] photographs everyone nude, that's his thing, I was so honoured and excited to work with him because he's legendary and for me, I knew it was something I wanted to do to feel confident," Kim revealed.

At one point, host Rove McManus asked Kim to teach him how to balance the glass on his bottom, but Kim joked it wasn't big enough. "My back hurt for about a week after that shoot", Kim admitted to The Project, an Australian talk show. She added: "[Jean-Paul] has an art of posing you and it was definitely not comfortable and things were falling all over the place!
