Rosario Dawson is now a mum, according to new reports. The Kids actress is said to have adopted a 12-year-old girl last October, a source told PageSix. Having been vocal about her desire to adopt in the past, Rosario seems to have finally fulfilled her plans and championed a cause close to her heart. The American actress was herself adopted and cared for by her stepdad Greg Dawson, when she was just one, and grew up with the construction worker and her mum Isabel Celeste in New York. "He"s always been my dad," Rosario, 35, has previously said.

The brunette beauty, who has been romantically linked to Sex and the City star Jason Lewis and director Danny Boyle, has openly revealed her intention in the past. "I always wanted to adopt kids because my dad adopted me," Rosario told Latina magazine in 2008. "That idea has stayed in the back of my head, but lately, I've been thinking about it more. "My mother and grandmother are extraordinary women, and they're getting older. It struck me recently that one day I might be sitting around with my children, going, 'Your grandma was an amazing woman; I really wish you could've known her.' "That makes me sad because it would be a waste to not have these people know each other. Whatever time I have, I want it."
