Evan Ross is preparing to welcome his first child with his wife Ashlee Simpson Ross this summer, and has revealed they have already been talking about baby names. While The Hunger Games actor didn't want to give anything away, he did promise that their child's name would be "different".

"We got a few ideas but we're keeping that for us," he said on The Wendy Williams Show on Thursday. "It's not going to be Apple or Orange or anything like that, it's going to be different though."

Evan and Ashlee confirmed that they were expecting a child together in December, and revealed that the baby is a girl at the start of February.

The baby girl will be the couple's first child together. Ashlee already has a six-year-old son Bronx with her former husband Pete Wentz, and Evan says he loves being a stepfather to him.

"It's amazing. I can't even tell you how incredible that child is. He's been a blessing in my life and I've learned so much from him."

Evan added that when he and Ashlee got married in August, Bronx "was excited. He's my friend – we became, like, homies. He was so excited we got married. He was at the wedding, I was like 'This is just as much your wedding as ours.' And he loves Mama D."

"Mama D" is Evan's mother, Diana Ross, the iconic Motown star. The legendary singer officiated the couple's wedding, which was held at her Conneticut estate, and even put on a special performance for the bride and groom.

"She's incredible," Evan said of his mum. "The whole thing, her and Ashlee's mom, Tina, pretty much did the whole thing together. It was unbelievable. We had no idea she was going to perform.

"She told us, 'Stop telling people I might perform'. She sang just to us two and it was really amazing. She did cry – when she was marrying us she cried."
