Zayn Malik's sister Doniya Malik has spoken for the first time about how her life changed when her brother shot to fame, and her close relationship with Perrie Edwards. Beauty blogger Doniya told BBC Asian network that Zayn's fiancée was like a sister to her, and said she was "very happy" she would soon be part of the family. "It's pretty cool. Perrie's a really nice girl, she's really friendly, very easy to get on with, down-to-earth, so I'd say just how it is with my sisters," Doniya said.

The pretty brunette also spoke about her "protective" younger brother. "Because me and Zayn are very close in age, we've grown up together," she said. "Actually he bosses me around, he acts like a big protective brother which is quite nice at times."He was quite spoilt growing up, but I'd say I was actually more spoilt than Zayn because I was the first grandchild. "While discussing Zayn's rise to global fame, the 23-year-old revealed the effect that it had on the family as a whole. "It changed quite a lot actually," Doniya revealed. "But you get to do a lot more things, and there's more opportunities that you never thought you'd get to do. Even going to London - before Zayn got famous, I'd never been to London.

"At the beginning when it first started out, I was 18. It was all kind of surreal and weird, but as time goes on you get used to it. "It's been less than two months since Bradford-born Zayn announced he was leaving One Direction. As the singer starts work on his solo career, Doniya is hoping to find success with her beauty blog. "I've always been into makeup, from a young age I've been creative and artistic and I'm a YouTube junkie so I get all my tips and tricks from there," she said.
