Adele's #squad goals moment: who joined her A-list dinner party?

Adele was on in good company when she stepped out for dinner in New York. Whereas your average Brit might have trouble rounding up such high-profile friends in the city that never sleeps, the Hello singer had no problems. The songbird was joined by Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone for an evening of fun that rivalled Taylor Swift's legendary get togethers with her squad.

The power trio looked like they were having really good fun

Seeing the trio, it would have been easy to mistake them for a regular group of 20-somethings – apart from one or two small points. To start with the ladies appeared to be accompanied by a bodyguard. While Adele had gone casual in converses, Jen was looking very high fashion in a leather, sheepskin-lined coat and Louboutin studded shoe boots.

Between them they have a couple of Oscars, a truckload of Grammys and millions in their bank accounts. Since the London-born singer last had a chance to hang out, which was at the 2013 Academy Awards, a lot has happened.

Adele stepped out with Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone

Adele will have brought the girls up to speed on how big her three-year-old son Angelo is getting. The little boy is currently with her in the US along with partner Simon Konecki.

Emma seems to have broken up definitively with on-off boyfriend Andrew Garfield, while the Hunger Games star is also single following last year's relationship with Chris Martin. He has moved on with British actress Annabelle Wallis.

Not that there will have been any moping at the dinner. Adele's new album 25 is good reason to celebrate. It has topped the pre-order chart in 93 countries, indicating that is set to match – if not exceed – her 2011 album 21. In the last year alone she earned £17 million from royalties on the back of 21 and previous album 19.

They know each other from the 2013 awards season

Despite her success, the singer-songwriter insisted recently that she is as down-to-earth as ever.

"I do shop at Waitrose these days. That's the biggest change," she laughingly told Nick Grimshaw. "And I've got a plasma."

And the coolest squad ever, she could add.
