She's showing some serious girl power! Michelle Keegan has signed up to Lip Sync Battle and in Friday's episode viewers will see the actress perform one of the Spice Girls' catchiest tracks – their debut hit Wannabe.

A teaser for the programme showed Michelle swapping the film set for the stage, proving that she could have been the girl band's sixth member.

The actress, who was crowned Sexiest Female at The British Soap Awards for six years running, looked effortlessly chic in skinny jeans, a flowing strappy top and a pair of sky-high nude heels.

"I'm gonna bring it, I'm gonna bring it," Michelle says, clutching the microphone.

The former Coronation Street star is given the seal of approval from the show's co-host Mel B, as she spins around and points to the Spice Girl. Mel stands up and with her hands held out, she gives Michelle a reassuring nod and smile.

Mark Wright's wife will go up against Jason Manford in the second episode of the show, which is inspired by the US series. Other celebrities who are taking part in the series include David Walliams, Johnny Vegas and Vic Reeves.

Wannabe was the first single the Spice Girls brought out in November 1996. Speaking on This Morning earlier this month, Mel admitted that she would like to mark the band's 20th anniversary.

"I would love it. I think it'd be a shame not to do something for the anniversary," said Scary Spice. "I think hopefully something will happen."

On the prospect of taking part herself, Mel added: "I got asked to do the American version, but I got a little bit too scared. I'm not used to lip syncing and I'd probably mess it up."
