Julia Roberts appeared on The Ellen Show to chat about being a part of Taylor Swift's squad. The 48-year-old actress joked with show host Ellen DeGeneres about appearing on stage with the pop sensation, and how her children had mixed reactions to her becoming part of Taylor's famous friendship squad.

After the Bad Blood singer invited Julia to join her on stage during her 1989 tour back in August, the mother-of-three revealed that she asked her children's opinions as to whether she should go up.

She said: "I will say this, when she very sweetly asked if I would go on stage, my oldest son son said: "Mommy you have to do it" and my youngest son said: "Mommy only do it if you feel comfortable."

Ellen joked about Julia joining Taylor's 'squad'

The Notting Hill star went on stage with the singer and was joined by American folk singer Joan Baez while attending the concert with her children Hazel, 11, Finn, 11 and Henry, eight. Taylor shared a photo of the occasion, writing: "tonight Joan Baez and Julia Roberts danced it out to 'Style'. These two women are my heroes. What an honour."

Julia then laughed as she watched footage of herself performing with Taylor, joking: "I've never seen this! I don't think that should actually be viewed, that's so shocking!"

Ellen joked about Julia's casual jeans and T-shirt, saying: "you really dressed up didn't you?!", to which Julia replied: "I will say this about my outfit – I had about five minutes notice that I was going on stage. I didn't dress for 50,000 people."

Ellen then asked the star about her children's music tastes, and the Oscar-winning actress confirmed that Taylor's music was the household favourite. She said: "My oldest son likes rap music. They all love Taylor Swift and she is just number one in our house and that was their first concert ever and we took a bunch of friends and had a great time."

The star has previously spoken about how much she loves spending time with her children, telling Marie Claire: "It's my privilege and an honour to cook three meals a day for my family, and it's a luxury on a level that I didn't even realise."
