Kate Beckinsale recreates birth photo with Michael Sheen and daughter Lily 17 years later

Kate Beckinsale and her former partner Michael Sheen have recalled the moment their daughter Lily was born in a hilarious new Instagram snap. The trio perfectly mirrored the throwback photo that was taken 17 years ago in a hospital in London.

Kate was pictured reclining in bed while her teenage daughter Lily pretended to be fast asleep on her chest. Doting dad Michael, who split from Kate in 2003, flashed the same proud look at the camera.

"Always a baby to me #Lily," the actress sweetly captioned the photo.

Kate showed off her glowing complexion, defying her 42 years in the new snap. Fans were quick to comment on how incredible the Underworld star looked.

"Kate is better with time! Wow! Really a vampire," wrote one follower. "I want whatever fountain of youth cocktail she's having!" replied another.

The timeless beauty was in a relationship with Michael from 1995 to 2003. The pair met while starring in The Seagull and moved in together shortly afterwards. Kate welcomed her daughter Lily Mo in 1999.

While on the set of Underworld, which also starred Michael, Kate fell for director Len Wiseman, who at the time was married. The pair have always maintained that there was no infidelity and Michael and Kate still remain close friends as their photo, posted as recently as Tuesday, shows.

Kate and Len went on to marry in May 2004 in Bel-Air, California, however last November it was announced that they are divorcing.

Shortly after the split announcement was made, Kate was pictured stepping out on the red carpet – noticeably without her wedding ring.

Sources confirmed that the long-term couple had gone their separate ways months before. "They are still friendly and spend time together in LA when Kate is there," an insider told People, adding that "there has been no drama".

"It's just not Kate's style," the source added. "They have both had complicated schedules and have grown apart."
