Whenever his daughter needs him, he'll be there. The Rock has proved just how much of a hands-on dad he is in a new photo posted on Instagram.

The actor, whose real name is Dwayne Johnson, shared a photo of himself changing his daughter Jasmine's nappy – thousands of miles up in the air.

Mid-flight, he wrote: "Regardless of where we're at.. when #2 happens with my baby girl.. I'm the #1 man for the job."

The Rock showed he was a hands-on dad

The Rock, who lived up to his name showing off his bulging biceps, joked "#IWillDealWithMyBackSpasmsLater" as he crouched over his daughter.

The actor welcomed baby Jasmine in December with his long-term girlfriend Lauren Hashian.

The couple started dating in 2007 shortly after The Rock split from his wife Dany Garcia, with whom he shares a 14-year-old daughter Simone.

The actor said that his daughter Jasmine "inspires" him

The Rock rarely shares snaps of his seven-month-old baby, so the latest photo was no doubt a welcome surprise for his fans. It gained the seal of approval from his 60.8 million Instagram followers, with more than 360,000 people liking the photo in an hour.

The actor, who has been filming the Baywatch movie this year, announced his daughter's birth with a tender photo on Instagram.

Lauren Hashian and Dwayne Johnson welcomed their first child last December

He wrote: "Christmas came early. Within minutes of being born she was laying on daddy's chest. And being a grateful man takes on a whole new meaning…

"Kinda crazy but in this cool powerful skin to skin bonding moment with my newborn baby Jasmine, I had just one wish I asked the universe… Give me the strength to be a better man today than I was yesterday. If I can accomplish that then I'd have a good shot at being a great father."

He then urged all young men who may one day be fathers to have the goal of "being better".

Speaking about his girlfriend Lauren, he added: "I was right there during labour, helping her breathe, every highly intense contraction, every second of pain, right there watching the actual birth, cutting the cord and wiping the tears. Incredible."
