Amidst fans' messages of praise, there was one particularly touching message for the baker, from fellow former contestant Jane Beedle. After a photo of Selasi's final rum cake was posted on social media, the GBBO finalist was quick to praise him for his latest achievement. "@selasigb @thismorning cake looks fab Selasi," she wrote, alongside an emoji of a happy face with heart-shaped eyes.

Speaking about the final, Selasi admitted that he felt he "dropped the ball" but that finalists Candice Brown, Andrew Smyth and Jane, all "deserved" to have made it that far.

"The finalists deserved to be there, I dropped the ball, I had a great time," he explained, before celebrating Candice's eventual win. "She's a deserving winner, she's always gone above and beyond, she absolutely killed it."
