The Australian artist has largely kept her marriage and personal life out of the spotlight. It wasn't until eight months after her wedding that she confirmed the happy news.

Speaking to Nova 96.9, Sia also revealed that Erik had only just visited her home country and met her parents for the first time. "He's met mum. He met dad for the first time yesterday. They actually fell in love with one another and that was awesome. It's pretty cute," she said in April 2015.

Sia, who often hides her face behind masks and wigs, also revealed her frustrations at being in the public eye. She had wanted to show Erik some of the sights, but the couple were bombarded by fans.

"We are, however, dedicated to remaining friends," the pair said in a statement

"It's kind of disappointing because we can't do anything," she said. "I'm kind of a bit famous. I didn't realise I'm so famous. It's crazy but I'm thinking I might rock a [disguise]. I've got some plans. We would really like to get out but also the rain is pretty crazy."

On being followed by the paparazzi, the 40-year-old singer added: "It's unpleasant. It makes me feel hunted. You feel like prey and they're the predator and you're being hunted. Would you like to spend your life feeling like prey? Probably not...

"It's just wanting to have a regular life, just like a regular person but still be able to make music and sing. But to do that without having to sacrifice having just a regular life, that's all I want."

Sia has just received three Grammy Awards nominations – Best Vocal Pop Album for This Is Acting, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Cheap Thrills and Best Song Written for Visual Media for Try Everything.
