Friends in high places! Nicole Scherzinger has revealed that Victoria Beckham has approached her about performing a duet with son Cruz Beckham. The 38-year-old X Factor star said she thought it would be "cool" to team up with the 11-year-old, who released his debut single, If Every Day Was Christmas earlier this week.

Speaking to the Sun, Nicole said: "Victoria was just telling me about her son the other day. He's just doing it all himself and she's supporting him. It's great.

"I mean, I would do a duet. She seems keen. But what, he's how old? He's like one-year-old! It would be cool. Yeah, I can do a duet with him. Maybe that will be my next thing."

Cruz unveiled his Christmas single on Capital FM on Wednesday. Proud dad David Beckham shared a sweet video of his son listening to the first radio play of his song, while mum Victoria posted a clip of a choir singing over the track. Proceeds from the single will be going to Global's Make Some Noise charity, which helps disadvantaged young people in the UK.

During his radio interview, Cruz opened up about Christmas in the Beckham household, revealing that his father likes to play pranks. "We always wake up at 6am, we go downstairs and my dad says, 'Wait, let me check if there's presents downstairs,' then he runs back up and says, 'Ah, there's none!'" he explained. The youngster also admitted that his fashion designer mother is the first to fall asleep when watching TV, and said she is the one most likely to say a "bad word".

While Cruz's debut track has been well received by the British public, Piers Morgan made headlines this week when he accused the Beckhams of using their son to promote their brand, adding that it was a shame Cruz hadn't earned his fame on his "own ability".

But Cruz's new manager Scooter Braun quickly left to his defence. "He is an 11 year old who wanted to make a song to help other kids," he tweeted, later adding: "How about you match him dollar for dollar to the charity? Instead of criticising, step up and help these kids the way Cruz is."

Justin Bieber – who is also managed by Scooter – went online to show his support for Cruz, tweeting: "Love seeing my little guy raising money for the kids. Congrats Cruz. Nice one."
