Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds are to have a joint funeral after they passed away just one day apart from each other.

Speaking about making joint funeral arrangements, Todd told New York Daily News: "It's what we want to do, but we're still working on the mechanics. I'm going out right now to look at places. We like the idea, if it's at all possible. I think it's appropriate." The news has been confirmed by Debbie's son Todd Fisher, who opened up about his mother's tragic death after suffering a stroke just one day after Carrie passed away. "She was very peaceful and quiet," Todd told ABC News. "It happened very gently. She loved taking care of my sister more than anything. So, she gets to do that and that's what she wanted to do." He also told Good Morning America that Debbie had expressed her desire to be with Carrie before passing away, telling the show hosts that Debbie "said she missed her daughter and wanted to see her again".

He continued: "I don't think she meant it quite like that but in 30 minutes she went to go see her again. I think she wanted to be with her. I'm not joking when I say she left to be with her and I'm happy about that. That's the only thing I'm happy about." He also confirmed that Carrie's 24-year-old daughter Billie Lourd would be making the funeral arrangements for her mother, saying: "Carrie loves a good party, so, you know, I'm sure she'll want to throw a party for her."

He spoke about how his niece was dealing with losing her mother and grandmother in just two days, telling E! News: "Carrie's daughter is 24 years old. To have to lose the girls, it's just horrible. She's got their genes, but you can't even imagine. I can't imagine being 24 and having to do this — and I'm 59." A spokesperson for Billie confirmed the sad news that her mother Carrie had passed away on Tuesday in a statement which read: "It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers."
