With a billionaire husband-to-be, the engagement ring was always going to be spectacular. Thirty-five-year-old Fabiana Flosi, betrothed to Formula 1 mogul Bernie Ecclestone, showed off an impressive sparkler at the weekend as the couple attended the Spanish Grand Prix.

The platinum ring, featuring rows of small diamonds and a huge centre piece, is said to be worth £100,000. Bernie, 81, announced his intentions to wed recently to a Daily Mail columnist. But he neglected to tell his two daughters Tamara and Petra, who found out when they read the news online. Tamara, 27, said that while she is happy for her father, she has no plans to attend the wedding. "I'm not expecting an invitation because I think my dad knows I have a huge loyalty to my mum," she says, speaking of Slavica, who was married to Bernie for 24 years. "I'm happy he's happy – I don't not want him to get married – but for me to go to the ceremony would be a step too far. "It's not personal. I don't know Fabiana well enough. At end of the day, my father is in his 80s and someone is making him happy. "If it wasn't Fabiana, it would be someone else. I think men find it harder to be alone." Tamara's sister Petra wed James Stunt in a spectacular £12 million ceremony which lasted three days and featured performances from the Black Eyed Peas and Eric Clapton.

But Tamara thinks her father's big day will be a very low key event. "I can't imagine it being a lavish affair," she said. "He doesn't think a wedding is a party, he thinks it's a functional ceremony rather than a celebration. "It’s a formality, like going to the office. I don’t think he'd want attention and all eyes on him. When he married my mum there weren't even any wedding pictures, they just trotted down to the register office. "My mum didn’t wear a wedding dress, she didn’t have a party, she didn't have a wedding. She's sad about that. So when Petra's wedding came round it was the opposite because my mum had such a non-fairytale wedding."Bernie Ecclestone's 'enchanting' bride-to-be Fabiana FlosiA fairytale wedding fit for a Formula 1 princess
