Avid Bond fans David and Lara light up 007's anniversary auction

The martinis flowed at Christie's auction house as James Bond fans turned out to bid for memorabilia from the famous films and celebrate their 50th birthday.Amoungst the crowd were David Walliams and his wife Lara Stone, whose 007 themed wedding cemented them as staunch supporters of the MI6 agent.

Actors and actresses from the well loved movies were also in attendance, including Dame Judi Dench, Samantha Bond and Sir Roger Moore.An enthusiast for the secret agent stories, David has previously mentioned how he would love a role in the films and also had a Bond themed 41st birthday party in August.The Little Britain star was on hand to introduce some of the items up for auction, which included a navy Tom Ford suit worn by Daniel Craig and the 2008 Aston Martin from Quantum Of Solace.

David could hardly contain his excitement and kept the crowd entertained, joking that the auction's proceeds were going to "the Roger Moore spray tan foundation. "Dame Judi, who reprises her role as M in the forthcoming Bond release Skyfall, set pulses racing when she presented Daniel Craig's swimming shorts from Casino Royale.The blue, La Perla trunks caused even more of a stir when Judi said "all I'm going to tell you is they're unwashed. "Whilst it was estimated the collection would raise was between £10,000 and £15,000, it eventually all sold for a staggering total of over £1m.
