Robbie Williams has announced a European stadium tour - to seal his place "in pop history". The star, 38, said it was "legacy time" and he was going to put on a tour of "great magnitude while I still can". Robbie said he had been "lethargic" with his last couple of albums but the birth of his daughter and his reunion with Take That had re-invigorated him. "The rumours are true. I'm getting Robbie Williams back together again", the Angels singer joked. The tour - his first full tour for more than six years - kicks off in Manchester next June before travelling to Glasgow and London's Wembley Stadium. X Factor star Olly Murs will be supporting Robbie on the 15-date tour.

Speaking at a press conference in a London hotel, Robbie said: "I'm buzzing. I'm ready to go. I haven't done a tour of this size since 2006. I believe that I'm at the place in my career where it's time to put my foot down and go 'This is what I do'. It's legacy time for me. "I'm getting my handicap down in golf and all that business. I'm nearly 40, that's what I'm trying to say. I don't know how many times I will get given this opportunity... I want to go and seal my place in pop history. "He also confessed he wanted to do a tour "of great magnitude while I still can" and "while people are still interested in seeing it".

Earlier this month, Robbie returned to the top of the album charts with Take the Crown. His single Candy also topped the official singles chart making it his first solo UK number one hit for eight years. Asked whether he would consider rejoining Take That again, he said: "The rest really is unwritten; whatever configuration, whoever it's with. I don't see myself as not being a member of Take That. Even if they get together as a four-piece, I'm still a member of that band and I will be a member of that band again. "With the tour, Robbie is topping off a brilliant year, having achieved great success in his music career as well as in his personal life. The singer became a father for the first time after wife Ayda gave birth to Theodora Rose in September ."Praise be, it's Theodora Rose Williams, affectionately known as Teddy." With these words, Robbie announced on his blog he had officially joined the celebrity daddy club. Robbie added: "Baby, Mummy and Daddy are all rockin.... Thank you for your best wishes XXXX." The baby arrived just two years after the couple married in a lavish wedding which featured exclusively in HELLO! magazine.
