Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth put arrest drama behind them with family outing

Reese Witherspoon put her disorderly conduct offence behind her as she attended her son's football match on Sunday. Cheering on her son Deacon, 8, from the sidelines in Brentwood, LA, it seems that recently arrested Reese has shelved both her disorderly conduct conviction and her brunette hair colour, which she debuted in April while filming her latest feature The Good Lie. Reese returned to her trademark blonde tresses and looked happy to be part of the family fun in a pair of white shorts, a blue and white gingham cotton shirt. The star topped off her look with an on-trend fedora and a large pair of black sunglasses.

Beaming with maternal pride, the Oscar-winning actress was joined by husband Jim Toth at the match. Also dressed in a stylish spring combination, the talent agent and his wife looked as loved-up as ever despite their recent controversy. On 19 April, the Legally Blonde actress was arrested for disorderly conduct after Jim was arrested for driving under the influence. Following the arrest, Reese publically apologised for her unsavoury behaviour, stating that she had to put her children first after the incident. "When you make a mistake, you take responsibility, and we are taking responsibility, and we are doing everything within our power to make it right," said the mother-of-three on Good Morning America.

Speaking about the night’s events, which ultimately led to her arrest, Reese said that she was "embarrassed" by her actions. "We went out to a restaurant in Atlanta, and we had one too many glasses of wine," the Walk The Line actress explained. "We thought we were fine to drive, and we were absolutely not, and we are so sorry and just so embarrassed." Reese added, "We made a mistake, and it was something that will absolutely never happen again."

According to the arrest report, the Oscar-winning actress asked Georgia state officer J Pyland if he knew her name when he flagged husband Jim down for unsteady driving. The officer then noted Reese said "you're about to find out who I am" and "you're about to be on national news", which led to the actress' arrest. "I have no idea what I was saying. That night I saw him arresting my husband, and I panicked. I said all kinds of crazy things. I said I was pregnant," said the actress when explaining her behaviour. "I'm not pregnant. I said crazy things. I had no idea what I was talking about."

Meanwhile, as she continues to focus on her family, the star paid loving tribute to her mum on Mothering Sunday. "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to my amazing mother! And all the wonderful mothers out there!" said Reese, alongside a photograph of her smiling mum Betty.
