Khloé Kardashian will file for divorce from her husband Lamar Odom today, according to a new US report.

TMZ are claiming that the reality star will file the paperwork on 13 December to end her marriage to the NBA star, citing irreconcilable differences.

The couple, who have been married since September 2009, have been estranged for several months, thanks largely to Lamar's alleged drug use.

While there seemed to be a glimmer of hope for the couple in the autumn, during which Khloé and Lamar were both seen wearing their wedding bands, it seems the light has faded.

Khloé has not been photographed wearing her ring since 23 November, and has hinted at her heartbreak in a number of recent posts on Twitter and Instagram.

"She flip-flopped several times, but she can't imagine having kids with someone who refuses to seek help for his disease," a source close to the star told US Weekly.

On Thursday 12 December, hours before TMZ reported her divorce plans, Khloé posted a revealing quote on Instagram.

"I am strong because I have been weak. I am fearless because I have been afraid. I am wise because I have been foolish."

On 7 December, the 29-year-old posted a message about learning to love.

"Dear Human: You've got it all wrong. You didn't come here to master unconditional love," the note read. "That is where you came from and where you'll return."

You came here to learn personal love. Universal love. Messy love. Sweaty love, Crazy love. Broken love. Whole love. Infused with divinity. Lived through the grace of stumbling. Demonstrated through the beauty of… messing up. Often.

"You didn't come here to be perfect. You already are. You came here to be gorgeously human. Flawed and fabulous. And then to rise again into remembering."
