Professor Green charged with drink-driving and facing court date

Professor Green has been charged with drink-driving following an incident last November.The rapper, who is married to former Made in Chelsea star Millie Mackintosh, was charged under his real name Stephen Manderson while answering bail late on Tuesday. "Stephen Manderson, aged 30, of Tyrwhitt Road, has this evening been charged with drink-driving following an incident on November 3 in Tyrwhitt Road," a spokesman for Metropolitan Police said. "He will appear on bail at Bromley Magistrates' Court on March 20."

Professor Green was first arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence last year. The rapper had called police to his house at 2:40am to originally report that his Rolex watch had been stolen.When police arrived to Professor Green's south-east London residence, they noticed that his £100,000 Mercedes had been involved in a crash with a van on the road outside. The Hackney-born rapper, who had been attending Radio One's Teen Awards that night, was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

There were no reports of any injuries from the alleged robbery.Later that month, the Before I Die rapper was also charged with attempting to pervert the court of justice. The Crown Prosecution Service decided not to pursue these allegations at Tuesday evening's hearing.

Despite his impending appearance with police, Professor Green showed no signs of qualms as he enjoyed a night out with his wife the weekend before.

"My dashing husband," wrote Millie next to a photo of her and Professor Green. The rapper is dressed immaculately in a tuxedo while the Quality Street heiress looks the picture of elegance in a low-cut, feathered white dress.

The couple, who tied the knot at Babington House in Somerset last September, have recently been dogged with rumours that their six-month marriage was on the rocks. Millie and Professor Green set the record straight in an interview with The Independent.

"When I met Steve I was in this unhappy party-circuit bubble, which was quite unhealthy," said Millie. "But he has brought out the best side in me: I feel happy and secure now. As an artist and a rapper he has a hard image. But I get to see a different side to him: he's kind, gentle, well-spoken. "Professor Green added that Millie was "wholesome" and "has great values."
