Frances Bean Cobain offers Zelda Williams support following father Robin's death

Robin William's daughter Zelda has received a kind message of support from her friend Frances Bean Cobain. A couple of days after her father's passing, Zelda announced that she was leaving Twitter and Instagram to "heal" after negative comments relating to the late actor's death were posted online.

Zelda will, however, find comfort in the words that Frances – who also lost her father to apparent suicide – wrote on Twitter.

"@zeldawilliams You have such an incredibly beautiful soul. I love you but you already knew that. Wherever, whenever u need me I'll be there," tweeted Frances.

The visual artist and only child of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love was only two-years-old when her Nirvana frontman father was found dead at his home in Seattle in 1994 from an apparent suicide.

Kurt's death shocked the entertainment world much like Robin's.

In a preliminary investigation, authorities confirmed that Robin, who was 63, died of suicide by asphyxiation. The Mrs. Doubtfire actor was discovered in his home on Monday morning by his personal assistant.

Lt. Keith Boyd, assistant deputy chief coroner of the Marin County Sheriff's Office, added that toxicology results and a full forensic examination will be available in two to six weeks. He also confirmed that Robin's wife Susan Schneider was the last person to see the stand-up comedian on Sunday evening.

"This is a tragic and sudden loss," a statement released by Robin's representative said. "The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time."

In honour of her much-loved father, Zelda posted a beautiful quote on Instagram that was taken from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's classic tale The Little Prince.

It read: "You – you alone will have the stars as no one else has them... In one of the stars I shall be living.

In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night... You – only you – will have stars that can laugh. I love you. I miss you. I'll try to keep looking up. Z."

Zelda announced that she was taking a break from her Instagram account in a heartrending post, where she said that her favourite family photos were framed in her house and not posted online. "I shared him with a world where everyone was taking their photo with him, but I was lucky enough to spend time with him without cameras too," part of her message said. "That was more than enough, and I'm grateful for what little time I had."
