Anthony Worrall Thompson re-opens Henley pub

TV chef buys back country inn six months after closing

by hellomagazine.com Anthony Worrall Thompson has re-opened his country pub, The Greyhound, six months after it went into administration.

The celebrity chef suffered a similar fate to many of his contemporaries recently when he was forced to close four of his six restaurants. But he struck a deal to re-open the inn, which he did this week.

Anthony – who was joined for a celebratory pint at his establishment in Henley, Oxfordshire by chef pal Ainsley Harriot - said he had learnt from previous mistakes and would be setting the pub up with a more affordable menu and a focus on weekly lunch time trade.

He also stated that he would take a more hands-on roll in the business, promising to spend more time in the kitchen.

"I have taken on board what people have said about The Greyhound,” said Anthony. “And it will be a different pub now."
