Go totally Thai at the Thai Festival 2009

by hellomagazine.com Whatever the weather this weekend, For a taste of something tropical head down to Greenwich Park - the oldest of the Royal Parks - which will be hosting the second Thai Festival.

The event will showcase the best that Thailand has to offer including fantastic authentic food from a range of London’s top restaurants like The Blue Elephant and Mango Tree. Traditional dishes will be on offer including curries and stir-fries, but also some of the more unusual dishes such as Som Tum, the green papaya salad famous throughout Thailand.

Entertainment over the weekend at day time will include Thai dancing, massage, arts and crafts as well as traditional Thai music. There will also be Thai boxing demonstrations.

The focus of the festival remains food though, with Thai food and dessert stalls, iced tropical drink stalls, Thai fruit shops, cookery demonstrations and fruit and vegetable carving all on offer.

The Thai Festival runs in Greenwich Park on August 8-9 from 11am to 6pm. Tickets in advance £3, on the door £5, kids under 120cm get in free. Click here for more details.
