National Chocolate week is here again and the perfect opportunity to check out the top chocolate in the country
Of all the food weeks throughout the year the one we all probably look forward to most is Chocolate Week, held annually on October 12-18.
The UK now has some of the best chocolatiers in the world producing an amazing delicious range of treats and the week is a great opportunity to meet them and eat as many samples as possible!
Over the course of this week the London Restaurant Festival will be hosting a chocolate dinner with top chefs and chocolatiers creating a course. Among those contributing are Tristan Welch from the Great British Menu, Sophie Conran and Paul A Young from Paul A Young Fine Chocolates.
Some of the country’s best chocolate shops will be offering promotions, events and sampling, including Artisan du Chocolat, Auberge du Chocolat, Chococo, The Chocolate Café, The Chocolate Cellar, CocoaLoco, Demarquette, Fortnum & Mason, Gorvett & Stone, Harrods, Hotel Chocolat, I should Cocoa, La Maison du Chocolat, Melange, Melt, Paul a Young, Rococo, Selfridges, Sir Hans Sloane Chocolates, Simply Chocolate and Thorntons.
A chocolate tour of Lancashire will also be happening. The ‘Chocolate Trail’ will start on a steam train and will feature chocolate shops, cafes, award winning restaurants, delis, wine merchants and hotels.
Put the kettle on, dust off the teapot, bake a few cakes and get ready for The Big Chocolate Tea Party fronted by Philip Schofield in aid of the Sick Children’s Trust. Click here for more information.
Bea’s of Bloomsbury will transform their London store into a chocolate haven for the week and will support The Sick Children’s Trust by delivering chocolate afternoon teas throughout London.
Have a chocolatey afternoon tea break with your colleagues, make a pot of tea and enjoy wonderful chocolate cakes delivered by Bea’s. 25% of the proceeds will go towards the charity.
