Often originally known as the drink of pirates, the modern day rum now holds a much more refined fame amongst mixologists and cocktail fans. No longer swigged from a bottle or poached by the barrel, mixed drinks and cocktails made with delicious dark rum are rapidly growing in popularity.
Many of us are familiar with white rum but the deeper flavour and aroma of dark rum gives an extra depth to a cocktail.
