The additional star means the TV chef, famous for using science to whip up unusual culinary delights such as bacon-and-egg ice cream, now boasts a grand total of six Michelin stars, more than any other of Britain's culinary masters.
Heston said he was "overjoyed" at the news, adding, "It's been an incredible two and a half years for Dinner and this is just simply the highlight.
"As a Brit, I am very proud that a restaurant inspired by and celebrating historic British cooking has been recognised today."
Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, situated in the swanky Mandarin Oriental, Hyde Park, features takes of historical British recipes from as far back as the 14th century.
Unique creations such as roasted bone marrow, nettle porridge, black foot pork chop, quaking pudding feature on the menu of the eatery, which opened in 2011 and this year was ranked as number seven in the list of the 50 best restaurants in the world.
Ashley Palmer-Watts, executive head chef for the Fat Duck Group, expressed his delight: "Wow. This is just incredible news."
He went on to praise the staff and say how proud of them he and Heston are. "Everyone works so hard every day and myself and Heston are so proud of each and every one of them. I am just blown away."
As well gaining a star for his newest restaurant, Heston has also held on to his top three-star rating for The Fat Duck and one star for the Hinds Head, which are both found in Bray, Berkshire.
Rebecca Burr, the Michelin guide's editor, said: "The Michelin guide has always reflected what's out there and London in particular has never offered so much choice – there really is something for everyone and for every occasion and there appears to be no end to the number of exciting new restaurant openings.
"With cuisines and culinary influences from all parts of the globe, it's no surprise that the capital is one of the most exciting cities in the world for food."
The Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2014 (£15.99) will hit shelves on October 4, as will the Michelin Guide London 2014 (£11.99).
