"Jessica did a vegan diet for about two weeks leading up to the wedding," a source tells Us Weekly.
As well as following the diet, which includes eating vegan foods such as lentils, greens, seeds and nuts contain magnesium and folate, two of the main nutrients that help boost your energy, Jessica joined in another celebrity trend.
She "also got quite a few B12 shots" before her big day, the source says.
Vitamin B12 shots, which are said to boost energy levels, reduce stress, aid weight loss and help keep skin and hair healthy, are favoured by the likes of Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Rita Ora, Lindsay Lohan and Katy Perry. Victoria Beckham swore by B12 for keeping her in top shape during pregnancy.
Jessica also upped her game when it came to exercise, increasing her daily cardio workout to six miles a day on the treadmill ahead of her nuptials.
Jessica's hard work paid off – the blonde singer-turned-designer looked stunning on her wedding day in a beautiful custom-made Carolina Herrera gown and veil.
The 33-year-old tied the knot with Eric Johnson at the San Ysidro Ranch in California in front of more than 250 guests, including Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren, plus sister Ashlee Simpson and her fiancé Evan Ross.
Jessica and Eric's one-year-old son served a ring bearer while their two-year-old daughter Maxwell acted as a flower girl, sources confirmed to E! News.
