TV chef Rachel Khoo revealed this week that she undertook a two-week course at Leiths cookery school with none other than the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton.
So who better to turn to than the Duchess' cookery school classmate, who even kindly took notes for Kate in her absence, for some summery desserts?
The English chef, who is famous for her hosting in the BBC Two cookery show The Little Paris Kitchen, and has launched a pop-up patisserie on Regents Street, says that the key to her perfect patisseries is in the oven she uses.
"Steam ovens are perfect for delicious patisseries and breads – anything where 'rise' is important.
"The moisture injection function helps not only to create lift and rise, but also produces a lovely thin, light crust together with the lightest pastry imaginable."
Kate may have taken pointers from Rachel when it came to her kitchen at Apartment 1A Kensington Palace – Rachel's pop-up patisserie uses steam ovens by Miele.
