David Beckham reveals what's on the menu at home: 'the kids love Italian and Victoria loves salad'

David Beckham has given fans an insight into dinnertime with the Beckhams. The former football star revealed in unseen footage from his DVD Into The Unknown that he cooks "fresh pasta from scratch".

He said: "When I was in Italy the culinary course was one of the things I always wanted to do.

"So I had the time and I thought, why not? The kids love Italian, so I can make fresh pasta from scratch."

David, who filmed the documentary in the run-up to the World Cup in Brazil this summer, goes on to say of his wife Victoria, "Victoria is easy. She loves vegetables and she loves salad, so Victoria's easy."

The dashing dad has previously opened up about showing off his culinary skills to his brood. Last year he told The Times Magazine that he likes to cook for his wife and four children – sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz and daughter Harper – after spending so much time away in the past due to work commitments.

He said: "I've been away such a lot in my career, I feel that when I am with them I should do everything possible."

As well as pasta, another signature dish is risotto, no doubt one of the plates David mastered at the six-month course at the professional cookery school that he took back while he was playing in Milan.

His love of food doesn't stop at Italian, though. When David travelled around Asia to promote his new whisky earlier this month he kept his fans updated on his Facebook page of the food and travel adventure.

On his trip, which saw the star stop off in South Korea as well as China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore, David got to try plenty of exotic delights. He especially enjoyed a meal at one of his favourite restaurants in Singapore, which serves up authentic Japanese cuisine, Kuriya Dining.

"Incredible meal as always at one of my favourite restaurants in Singapore, Kuriya Dining @ Great World City. Love the Uni," wrote David alongside a photograph of his poised hand holding a bite with chopsticks.

The popular Brit also found the time to happily sign a board with the personal message: "The most amazing people and food... All my love David."
