Britain's most respected chef and holder of two Michelin stars has created four delicious dishes to show his support for Earth Hour. The recipes, which can serve up to four people each, include one seafood dish and three desserts, and incorporate all five of WWF's – one of the world's largest independent conservation organisations – food principles for a healthy planet.

The culinary master's creations are definitely worth a try. Owner of Le Manoir aux Qaut'Saisons, the two-Michelin starred hotel-restaurant in the Oxfordshire village of Great Milton – the chef is an expert in the kitchen as well as a gifted teacher. Several proteges of his wonderful cookery school have gone on to win the much coveted culinary rating, such as former pupil Marco Pierre White who was the first British chef – and the world's youngest – to win three Michelin stars. And with WWF encouraging people across the globe to show their support for Earth Hour by switching off for one hour and doing something fun – like enjoying a homemade candle lit dinner – you can try your hand at one of his exquisite recipes before sitting down to enjoy it in a romantic setting.

"This is such a simple ask, switch off your lights... and enjoy one of my meals by candlelight. It is romantic and you are highlighting a great cause at the same time, what could be more important than looking after our planet", said the French-born chef. Last year saw a staggering 6,950 towns and cities – in a total of 152 countries – take part in what has become a global phenomenon. From single house lights, to iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, the Taj Mahal and the Sydney Opera House, the lights will be going off to show support for Earth Hour. Miranda Kerr showed the world how she maintains her supermodel physique when gave a free yoga class in aid of Earth Hour last year in the 'I Will If You Will' challenge. The hour of darkness is a global call to action to individuals, businesses and governments to unite in the largest environmental event in history by turning their lights off for one hour.
