Inside Kate Moss' stylish birthday bash restaurant

Many of us thought Kate Moss would take up Sir Richard Branson's generous offer to spend her 40th birthday on his privately-owned Necker Island, but instead the world famous supermodel opted to stay in her home capital of London, heading to one of Mayfair’s swanky restaurants, 34 Restaurant, instead.

Here at HELLO! Online, we decided to take a look at the flash venue that Kate chose to take famous friends including Naomi Campbell, Stella McCartney, Sadie Frost, Jo Wood, Nick Grimshaw and Mario Testino, along with, of course, her mum Linda and Topshop owner Sir Philip Green to celebrate her special birthday bash.

Located just off Grosvenor Square in the heart of Mayfair, 34 is a romantic, classy yet old-fashioned restaurant owned by the same group behind A-lister favourites The Ivy and Le Caprice.

We can reveal that Kate and her entourage took to the restaurant's private room, The Emin Room, for their celebratory lunch. With seating for 60 people, specially commissioned art by iconic artist Tracey Emin, oak-panelled walls, a stylish marble bar and deep vermilion leather chairs, it's easy to see why Kate chose this venue to get her friends and family together.

Delights on the menu include starters like rillette of duck & foie gras and mixed sashimi to mains such as lobster macaroni and coconut spice salmon. And it's just as well there's always a little room for dessert, because 34's look mouthwatering – pink pineapple & mojito sorbet, orange & chocolate mousse cake and pear & butterscotch tart.

But better still, Kate opted for Moët & Chandon to toast her 40th birthday.

Cocktails were also bound to feature in the party-lover's celebrations, and here 34 triumphs, too. Ranging in price from £10 to £17, there's every cocktail a birthday girl could dream of – Hibiscus Margarita, Mayfair Sling and A Nightingale Sang to name a few.
