Meghan Markle has admitted that her go-to recipe when cooking for friends and family is the traditional British roast. The Suits star, who has been dating Prince Harry since summer 2016, described the recipe as a "game changer" in an interview in the June 2017 issue of Good Housekeeping.

"There is nothing as delicious (or as impressive) as a perfectly roasted chicken," Meghan said. "It's a game changer. I bring that to dinner parties and make a lot of friends." Whether the 35-year-old has cooked the dish for Harry remains to be seen, but it would make an ideal dinner for the British royal when she is staying with him at his apartment at Kensington Palace.

Meghan Markle said her signature dish is a British roast dinner

Meghan has been a regular visitor to the apartment during her time off from filming in Toronto, where she has been spotted stocking up on groceries at the local Whole Foods Market store. The actress has previously described herself as a "foodie" and often shares photos of her meals with her 1.6 million Instagram followers, with sushi, frittatas, and a roast turkey among some of her most recent creations.

In the interview Meghan also revealed that she had another surprising role before achieving success as an actor – as a calligrapher. The actress helped make ends meet when she was starting out in Hollywood by writing notes and invites. She said: "I used to be a calligrapher for weddings and events – that was my side job while I was auditioning. I think handwritten notes are a lost art form. When I booked my first [TV] pilot, my dad wrote me a letter that I still have. The idea of someone taking the time to put pen to paper is really special."

While Meghan may not have as much time now to dedicate to letter-writing, she has channelled her creative talents into her lifestyle site, The Tig. She learnt how to juggle her acting career with blogging and used The Tig as a platform to communicate with like-minded individuals who have "a hunger for food, travel, fashion & beauty". Despite being a popular blogger, Meghan shut down her website in April, prompting speculation that she is preparing for a future with her boyfriend Prince Harry.
