Blake Lively took home the award for best dramatic actress for her role in The Shallows. Ryan Reynolds' wife praised fans for voting for "girl power," while also sending a message to her husband's admirers. "When you guys voted for this, you didn't just vote for this movie or me but you voted for girl power. And so thank you! Thank for you—it's true! And men voted for girl power, too, and you guys are awesome for doing that," she said. "So thank you guys and thank you to my husband who's everything to me. You can't have him, he's mine! Thank you!"

The daytime talk show host won her record-breaking 20th People's Choice Award. "This is amazing. Seventeen, I get. Eighteen, sure. Nineteen, I can see that. But 20 is outrageous," she said in her acceptance speech. "This is really something that means more to me than [other awards] because it comes from the people. The Shades of Blue actress was overcome by emotion claiming her first PCA trophy. "My heart is beating fast. I want to say thank you to the people! Gracias! Oh my god, I love you!" she said. "I'm shaking a little bit, I didn't expect this. I'm so lucky to be playing such a strong female character as Harlee every week on Shades of Blue."
"This was a passion project for me as a producer and as an actress, and I just want to say thank you so much for loving the show, for watching the show," she continued. "And to my two favorite people, Max and Emme, my twins: Everything that I do is for you. I love you so much. Thank you so much everybody, I really appreciate this. Thank you."
