Ben Affleck lends star appeal to Kerry campaign

Ben Affleck has placed his hat in the political arena by making a very public appearance with presidential candidate John Kerry. The handsome actor dropped by the Democrat politician's fundraiser in the Sheraton Boston hotel, and he left reporters in little doubt about who he'll be voting for come election day.

"I think he's a phenomenal candidate," declared Ben. "And I look forward to continuing to support him. I supported him as a senator and I think he'll make a great president."

The Daredevil star was clearly delighted to be welcoming the Vietnam veteran to his hometown. And it seems the people of Boston felt the same - the rally turned out to be the biggest and most successful in Massachusetts history.

Ben isn't the only big name eager to help John Kerry get into the White House. Rocker Jon Bon Jovi is scheduled to play when he arrives in Pittsburgh at the weekend and Barbra Streisand is expected to stage a fundraising concert at her home in Malibu.

Other stars backing the politician include Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Meg Ryan, Tobey Maguire, Lucy Liu and Sharon Stone.
