Ben and Jen get the Razzie treatment

Jennifer Lopez was notable by her absence at this year's Academy Awards, but the Bronx-born star swept the board at the previous day's Razzies.

The annual prizegiving is a somewhat less glamorous affair, however, because it hands out gongs for the worst flicks of the year. Jennifer's box office disaster Gigli was the big "winner" at this year's event, taking victory in no fewer than six of the categories.

J-Lo and her former fiancé Ben Affleck managed to win worst screen couple, along with both male and female worst actor gongs. And Gigli's director Martin Brest also came in for a pasting, after he was named winner of the worst director and worst screenplay awards.

But Ben and Jen weren't the only ones feeling the heat, after comedian Mike Myers was "honoured" for The Cat In The Hat. The movie version of Dr Seuss' legendary book suffered the ignominy of being named "Worst Excuse For An Actual Movie".

Sylvester Stallone meanwhile made Razzie history by receiving his 10th gong, for his role in Spy Kids 3-D. The Hollywood hardman also holds the record for most nominations at the ceremony, having garnered 30 nods over the course of his career.
