Hugh and John display their fatherly instincts

When Hugh Jackman and John Travolta teamed up on the 2001 blockbuster Swordfish they played sworn enemies hell-bent on one another's destruction. Onlookers got to see a rather more gentle side to the two men when they met up in Los Angeles this week, however.

Proud dad Hugh was keen to show off his new baby daughter, Ava, to his old friend. And the Pulp Fiction star was clearly charmed by the little girl, gently stoking her head and gazing intently as she snuggled in her father's arms.

Little Ava is Hugh's second child with his wife of ten years Deborrah-Lee Furness. The happy couple, who first met while working on the Australian prison drama Correlli, adopted the infant in July last year. They also have a five-year-old son called Oscar who likewise accompanied his dad to the Australian-rules football match staged in LA on Sunday.

Fans of the hunky actor needn't worry about him losing his tough-guy credentials, though, as he's about to reprise his much-celebrated role as comic book hero Wolverine. "I love playing him," confessed the award-winning actor. "I think it's the best part going."
