'Basic Instinct 2' earns Sharon a 'Razzie' nod

In a week which sees Hollywood eagerly awaiting the announcement of those in the running for Oscars, the nominations for a somewhat less coveted award have been revealed. The annual Golden Raspberry Awards - known in the industry as the Razzies - recognising the previous year's worst cinema, were announced on Monday.

Blonde bombshell Sharon has picked up two nods for Basic Instinct 2, which is also up for worst picture. Fellow actresses making it onto the list include Jessica Simpson for Employee Of The Month, Lindsay Lohan for Just My Luck, Kristanna Loken for BloodRayne and Hilary and Haylie Duff for Material Girls.

Joining Basic Instinct 2 in the worst film category are Little Man, up for seven gongs, Lady In The Water, The Wicker Man and BloodRayne.

Although nominees for the spoof awards ceremony - which is held the day before the Oscars - rarely collect their trophy, Halle Berry surprised the film fraternity by turning up in person in 2005. Proving herself a good sport she then went on to give a breathless mock acceptance speech for her worst actress gong which recognised her role in Catwoman.
