A heady dose of Hollywood glamour is set to lighten the winter gloom in Berlin where some of the movie world's most renowned names are arriving for the city's film festival.

Scottish Oscar winner Tilda Swinton led the charge in her capacity as jury president, while Clive Owen attended the screening of his new financial thriller The International.

Kate Winslet is due in town for a screening of The Reader, the acclaimed WWII drama which has already earned her a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination.

Premieres are also expected for Tommy Lee Jones vehicle In The Electric Mist, which is a supernatural thriller, and Demi Moore's film Happy Tears about a woman caring for her ailing father.

Lighter fare will be provided by Renee Zellweger in My One And Only, a comedy about a glamorous young mother in the Fifties shopping for a rich husband, and Michelle Pfeiffer playing a courtesan in Cheri.
