Cameron Diaz and Tori Spelling get on board with summer trends
1 APRIL 2009
With the warmer months approaching, Cameron Diaz led celebrity guests working summer looks at an LA children's TV awards this week. In the same week Gwen Stefani and Rihanna were spotted in ripped jeans, the What Happens In Vegas actress combined a pair with a funky black and red polka dot top and stripey-heeled, peep-toe shoes.
Wearing another of the new season's hottest trends, a floral-print maxi dress, was former Beverly Hills 90210 actress Tori Spelling, on the red carpet with her Toronto-born actor husband Dean McDermott.
Winners at the awards, voted for by viewers of kids TV network Nickelodeon, included Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus. The teen star struggled to hold back tears as she picked up the favourite female singer trophy.
"I really thought I was going to lose," she confessed. "Unlike any other awards show, it's all because of you guys, so thank you guys so much."
High School Musical also ruled the day. The flick's blue-eyed hero Zac Effron accepted the best movie award on behalf of the cast, while his girlfriend Vanessa Hugdens was named favourite female movie star.
