Sashaying up the red carpet in a glittering frock on the arm of one of Hollywood's leading men is a celeb-watcher's dream. And one that could become a reality for a lucky fan as Leonardo DiCaprio is inviting bids to be his date at the presentation of his new thriller, the Scorsese-directed Shutter Island.
The once in a lifetime experience, offered in aid of an eco charity, includes being ferried to the glitzy launch in environmentally friendly transportation, and a night in a green hotel – though not presumably with the star himself.
Leonardo, a long-time green activist, who stars with Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams and Emily Mortimer in the flick, said: "By bidding… people will help Global Green combat climate change and pursue important environmental imperatives".
The auction on eBay runs from Wednesday night until April 22.
