Unfortunately, for Twilight idol Robert Pattinson life isn't that simple. He's convinced that fame has only muddied the waters when it comes to finding a plus one.
"Girls scream out for Edward, not Robert," the dreamy Englishman tells the Sydney Morning Herald, referring to the sensitive, tortured vampire he plays. "I still can't get a date."
Not that he ever finds himself short of company.
"Like yesterday, I was having lunch down the road," he says. "We were in this place for a couple of hours and suddenly there was like 400 people outside on the street. It was just so nuts and it's like that all the time now."
Robert is hoping some of the excitement will die down after the premiere of New Moon, the second film in the Twilight saga.
"I'm not the lead in the second film. Taylor [Lautner] is," reveals the actor who romances Kristen Stewart's character Bella in the movies. "I appear in Bella's dreams. So I'm in it but the focus is not on me."
