Speaking in a recent interview, Courteney Cox Arquette addressed the difficulties in managing a high-profile career with her responsibilities as a mum, particularly since her little girl started kindergarten.

But the 45-year-old actress – married to David Arquette since 1999 – proved just how good she is at multitasking last week, as she seamlessly interchanged between her professional commitments and motherhood.

After making waves in a white bikini to film scenes for Cougar Town, trim and toned Courteney was back in mum mode, changing into a red maxi dress for a cuddle with Coco.

The five-year-old – whose godmother is the actress' best friend Jennifer Aniston - was on the set of the TV sitcom to watch her famous mother hard at work.

Of her latest small screen role, Courteney has said she loves playing divorced single mum Jules Cobb even more than she did starring as mother hen, and compulsive cleaner, Monica Geller in Friends.

The show follows Jules as she searches for love in a small Florida town and tries to get back on the dating scene.

But finding all single men her own age are "broken, gay or chasing young girls," she makes the decision to date younger men – the title Cougar Town referring to an older woman looking for a toyboy.
