Katherine Heigl's family snap tops poll of best baby pictures

The year 2009 saw something of a baby boom in the world of celebrities. From the arrival of Mel Gibson's eighth child, to the first public sighting of Angelina and Brad's twins, there have been plenty of high-profile tots making headlines.

And the stars have been keen to show off the newest additions to their families – making for plenty of adorable photographs for hellomagazine.com readers to choose from as their favourite baby snap.

But it was the picture of actress Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley with their new ten-month-old Nancy Leigh that most captured the public's hearts.

With an convincing 44 percent of the vote, the first look at the Grey's Anatomy star's Korean daughter – nicknamed Naleigh – held on to the top spot to be named the cutest pic.

In second place, with 18 percent was the photo of single dad Ricky Martin enjoying a day on the beach with his two one-year-old surrogate sons, Matteo and Valentino.

And Britain's own Kate Garraway and her adorable son William, or Billy, secured the number three spot, thanks to the then three-month-old's debut TV appearance on GMTV.

Hollywood's most famous mum Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne were voted fourth with a picture taken when the actress and partner Brad took their youngest daughter and her brother Knox out for ice-cream.

Another pair of twins took fifth place – Sarah Jessica Parker's surrogate daughters Tabitha and Marion. the cute twosome were snapped with their proud mum, actor father and older brother James Wilkie.

In sixth place was Matthew McConaughey and his son Levi, snapped enjoying father-son bonding time together on the beach.

They were closely followed up by Mel Gibson's love Oksana Grigorieva and the first picture of her tiny daughter Lucia Anne, and Samantha Burke with her child with Jude Law, Sophia.
