Taylor Lautner to join stellar cast of British comedy Cuckoo
12 FEBRUARY 2014Taylor Lautner will star as the main lead in the second series of British sitcom Cuckoo.
The Twilight star, who has just celebrated his 22nd birthday, will play a mysterious stranger new to the neighbourhood and will replace Golden Globe-winning actor Andy Samberg.
Reports suggest that Taylor was snapped up in the hope that his good looks and comic talent would boost ratings for the acclaimed BBC Three show. The story line revolves around a young couple who met on their Gap Year and got married, much to the girl's parents' dismay.

Cuckoo, which debuted in September 2012 and has since been nominated for two British Comedy awards, was the biggest comedy launch in BBC Three's history.
"I'm delighted to welcome it back with the addition of superstar Taylor Lautner joining the critically acclaimed Greg Davies and an outstanding British comedy cast for what will be one of the comedy treats of the year," BBC Three controller Zai Bennett announced.

This will be Taylor's first television role since he found fame starring as half human half werewolf Jacob Black in the Twilight franchise, acting alongside Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
The Michigan-born actor has been dating Canadian actress Maria Avgeropoulos, 27, since last year. The couple met while on set for their upcoming movie Tracers and are said to have hit it off straight away.
"She's totally his type and he's really excited about her," an insider told HollywoodLife. Taylor has previously been linked to high-profile celebrities including Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez.
