Cressida Bonas cast alongside Cara Delevingne in new film
06 JUNE 2014Cressida Bonas has landed her first big screen role alongside Cara Delevingne.
Tulip Fever is set in the 17th century and follows Alicia Vikander's married woman who begins a passionate affair with an artist hired to paint her portrait.
Cressida will play a young merchant's wife, and the film also stars rising stars Dane DeHaan (The Amazing Spiderman 2) and Jack O'Connell (Angelina Jolie's upcoming Unbroken) as well as Glee's Matthew Morrison, Dame Judi Dench, and Christoph Waltz..
It was reported however that the 24-year-old dance graduate wanted to focus on her own career, and on Sunday she did just that, as the blonde beauty was spotted rehearsing for her part in a new play. Smiling, laughing and walking arm-in-arm with her friends, Cressida made her way backstage at the How The Light Gets In Festival of Philosophy and Music, a spin-off of the Hay Festival — an arts and literature event in Hay-on-Wye, Wales.
Cressida plays a starring role in There's a Monster in the Lake, whose plot revolves around an exasperated elderly man who disappears from a rehab centre and heads to the woods while his two daughters go looking for him.
In a recent interview with the Sunday Times Cressida said of her career: "Acting, dancing and singing is something I have done my whole life. Being part of a creative team is the best thing in the world and I feel very happy within a creative environment."
Tulip Fever will be produced by famous Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein of The Weinstein Company, and in a statement he said the film "will be the 10th film we've collaborated on with my friend Dame Judi Dench, whom I consider one of the most talented actresses of our time. It's a thrill to have her, Matthew, Cara and Cressida joining the fantastic cast that's been assembled."
