In this new five-minute featurette the director-cum-actor talks about the reasons for why the story of the Four Seasons needed to be told.
"From the very beginning no-one knew why anyone would pick Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons to do a show", he said.
"But when you go back into it you see that they came up as juvenile delinquents. And the music came and pulled him out, gave him something to strive for."
Following the true story of the American rock and pop The Four Seasons, Clint has bought the film to the big screen in a documentary-style, as the four main characters each take their turn at telling the audience their individual story and opinion of the rise and fall of the band throughout the 1960s.
Erich Bergen, John Lloyd Young, Michael Lomenda and Vincent Piazza are the four unknown actors starring in the film, although John Lloyd Young isn't a stranger to the story - he won a Tony for originating the role of Frankie Valli on Broadway in 2006.
Featuring many of the Four Seasons hits, including Sherry, Who Loves You, and You’re Just Too Good to Be True, this featurette gives us a behind-the-scenes look at the production, which is out in the UK on 20 June.
