It was a first on The Apprentice. Lord Alan Sugar chose to send home not one, but three candidates who failed to impress on the fourth task of the series. Stephen, Sarah and Ella Jade were all sent packing in a shock triple elimination as Team Tenacity came under fire following the Making Money Online challenge.

Tenacity had decided to focus on fitness as they set about creating a video channel for YouTube, while their rivals, Team Summit, chose cooking. In the boardroom, Summit – headed up by Solomon – came out on top with 3,532 hits, while Team Tenacity, led by Ella Jade, notched up 3,314 views. The 23-year-old decided to bring Sarah and Steven back into the boardroom with her, and heads soon started to roll.

First to go was Steven, who initially pleaded with Lord Sugar to let him manage the next task. "Steven, you're not going to be the next Project Manager because I think you're a lost cause in this process," Lord Sugar replied. "Steven, you're fired." He then turned his attention to Sarah. "Sarah, there is no smoke without fire. Why they always make you the time keeper is because people don't have much confidence in you. And if people don't have much confidence in you, I'm wondering why I should have confidence in you as a business partner," he said. "Sarah, you're fired."

Finally, the business mogul addressed Ella Jade. "I've gotta get on with this process, with the candidates, some very, very good candidates, that are left. Let's get rid of the no-hopers… No chance… Don't waste my time." Despite repeated pleas from Ella Jade, even after she had been fired, he continued, "The thing is, I'm afraid to say, you do not have the acumen for this.

Ella, you're fired. No, I'm sorry, you are fired… I wish you well… I've made my decision. OK, you're fired."

Having dismissed all of the candidates sat in front of him, Lord Sugar concluded, "I've been in business long enough now to work out the people that have no chance of becoming my business partner, and those three certainly had no chance."
